How often should I attend therapy sessions?

Weekly sessions are recommended, however, we can discuss what works best for your schedule during your intake session. The duration of therapy will also be discussed during your intake and treatment planning sessions.

What’s the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling typically refers to short-term support provided for one or a couple specific issues, whereas, psychotherapy can last months or even years, and aims to address unresolved trauma, troubling patterns and other persistent concerns.

Other Questions

How do I know if I need psychotherapy?

Everyone and anyone can benefit from an unbiased, empathetic and trustworthy listening ear to help them navigate challenges. You don’t have to be in crisis to seek counselling. If you’re here and have been considering therapy, you can likely benefit from it.

How can I prepare for therapy?

Start with an open mind. Be willing to share honestly and openly.

Commit yourself to the process, and understand that you may not see huge changes overnight. However, I’ll help you learn to notice the small steps and progress you can learn to be proud of as we journey through your transformation together.

How can I make the most of therapy?

By committing to sticking with it, for the duration of treatment, and putting in work both during and in-between sessions.

I may give “homework” or ask you to practice the skills you learn in-between our sessions.

Recognizing that therapy involves work on your part and giving it your best effort is how you will reap the most benefit from therapy.
